Bombing, Domodedowo Airport Moscow

From Tageschau.de, courtesy Hans Wendt:

Bei einer Explosion auf dem internationalen Moskauer Flughafen Domodedowo sind mindestens 35 Menschen getoetet worden. Ausserdem seien 130 Menschen verletzt worden, meldete die amtliche Nachrichtenagentur RIA Nowosti unter Berufung auf das Gesundheitsministerium.

From CNN: The blast, at the city's Domodedovo Airport, killed at least 35 people and left more than 150 wounded, several critically.

Experts say it is significant that those who masterminded the attack chose to bomb the arrivals hall of the airport -- Moscow's busiest -- because it was an easier target than the heavily-policed departures area.

The explosion occurred about 4:30 p.m. at the entrance of the international arrivals section of Domodedovo Airport, Itar-Tass said, citing a spokeswoman for the Russian Investigative Committee, Tatyana Morozova.

The GCP event was set for 4:00 to 10:00, Moscow time. The result shows Chisquare 21777.241 on 21600 df, for p = 0.197 and Z = 0.854.

It is important to keep in mind that we have only a tiny statistical effect, so that it is always hard to distinguish signal from noise. This means that every "success" might be largely driven by chance, and every "null" might include a real signal overwhelmed by noise. In the long run, a real effect can be identified only by patiently accumulating replications of similar analyses.
